Aqua Seal 2K Water Proofing by Kerala Paints

Inspired by nature

The colocasia leaf

Rain falls on a colocasia leaf and simply rolls away; water never gets a hold. Aqua Seal 2K gives concrete and masonry that same quiet resistance, monsoon after monsoon.

Kerala Paints Aqua Seal 2K waterproofing is a two-part, polymer-modified, flexible cement waterproofing system. It helps reduce water seepage through well-prepared concrete and masonry surfaces.

It combines an acrylic polymer solution with a cement-based powder. When mixed and applied as recommended, it forms a continuous waterproof coating. Aqua Seal 2K is suitable for specified applications such as foundations, basements, damp-wall treatment, bathrooms, terraces, concrete water tanks and swimming pools.

For the recommended exposed terrace and roof system, apply one coat of Aqua Seal 2K followed by one coat of Kerala Paints Cool Coat. Aqua Seal 2K should not be left exposed to direct sunlight as the final coating in this system.

WHERE CAN AQUA SEAL 2K BE USED?

  • 1 coat

    Foundation & basement waterproofing

Used during foundation construction as a protective waterproofing coat, helping reduce moisture ingress through treated foundation masonry and concrete.

    1. Prepare the surface and repair defects where necessary.
    2. Bring the substrate to Saturated Surface Dry (SSD) condition.
    3. Apply the coating uniformly.
    4. Allow appropriate curing and protect the treated surface from damage.

Subsequent construction may proceed after approximately five days, subject to suitable curing and site conditions.

  • 1 coat

    Damp-wall treatment

Part of a treatment system for walls affected by dampness. Identify and address the moisture source wherever possible first.

    1. Remove affected paint and putty from the treatment area.
    2. Clean the exposed masonry surface.
    3. Repair cracks, holes and other defects where necessary.
    4. Prepare the surface to SSD condition.
    5. Apply one uniform coat of Aqua Seal 2K.
    6. Allow approximately 12 hours before the subsequent putty and painting system.

Base the treatment height and extent on the affected area and moisture source. Active seepage, rising dampness and plumbing leaks may need additional corrective work.

  • 2 coats

    Bathroom & wet-area waterproofing

For bathroom floors and walls before tiling, covering all treatment areas including corners, floor-wall junctions and pipe penetrations.

    1. Clean the bathroom floor and wall surfaces.

    4. Prepare the surface to SSD condition.
    5. Apply the first coat uniformly.
    6. Allow the first coat to reach the appropriate recoat condition.
    7. Apply the second coat for complete coverage.
    8. Allow approximately 36 hours before tiling, subject to curing and system compatibility.

When estimating quantity, include the floor and all wall surfaces that need waterproofing.

  • 1 coat + 1 coat Cool Coat

    Terrace & roof waterproofing

The primary waterproofing layer for suitable concrete terraces and roofs.

    1. Clean the terrace and remove loose particles and contaminants.
    2. Repair cracks, defective joints and damaged concrete.
    3. Prepare the substrate to SSD condition.

    5. Apply one uniform coat.
    6. Allow the waterproofing layer to dry and cure sufficiently.
    7. Apply one coat of Kerala Paints Cool Coat according to the compatible finishing-system instructions.

Why is a Cool Coat required? Aqua Seal 2K should not be left exposed to direct sunlight as the final coat in this system. Cool Coat is the specified finishing layer.

  • 2 coats

    Concrete water tank waterproofing

For suitable concrete water tank surfaces as part of a waterproofing system.

    1. Empty and clean the tank.
    2. Remove loose particles and contaminants.
