Kerala Paints Prime Gold – Interior & Exterior Wall Primer

Stronger bonding. Smoother walls. A better foundation for every finish.

Inspired by nature

Deep roots

Before a tree can rise, its roots must take hold of the earth. Prime Gold gives every finish that same grip: a firm, even foundation the colour above can hold on to.

Kerala Paints Prime Gold is a water-based wall primer developed to prepare interior and exterior masonry surfaces for decorative emulsion painting.

Formulated to provide good surface penetration, high intercoat holding capacity and minor pore-filling performance, Prime Gold helps establish a smooth and uniform foundation for compatible topcoats.

Its primer formulation helps support the bonding of subsequent decorative coatings while reducing the visibility of minor pores and surface imperfections. Suitable for residential and commercial projects, it prepares walls for a consistent finish with appropriate surface preparation and compatible Kerala Paints emulsions.

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Prepare the surface

Remove loose or flaking paint, dust, dirt, grease, oil and loose particles. Clean off fungal, algal or moss growth and let the wall dry.

  2. Treat problems first

Fix the source of dampness – with Aqua Seal 2K where appropriate – use Salt Block on chalky surfaces, and repair significant defects with Ultra White Putty inside or Waterproof Putty outside.

  3. First coat

Mix thoroughly, follow the approved dilution with clean water only where permitted, and apply uniformly by brush, roller or spray.

  4. Second coat

After the recoat interval of about six hours, apply the second coat.

  5. Emulsion topcoat

Finish with a compatible Kerala Paints interior emulsion, or a weather-resistant exterior emulsion outside.
